* A certificate of attendance will be offered as an alternative, in the unlikely event that participants do not pass the test within 3 attempts.

The course is designed for clinicians, but whether you are a researcher, or a different professional interested in learning more about ADHD, this event is for you!
Prerequisite is that participants have knowledge and experience of working with mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions. We ask you to complete a form stating your professional title. At this time, we do not restrict the course to mental health professionals because many clinics, including the NHS and charities, also involve a variety of therapists and psychology graduates in carrying out ADHD assessments, e.g. the information gathering process. Also, ADHD assessments may be carried out by specialist assessors, like teachers, when the scope is limited to giving support in school or university.
The learning objectives are achieved through active discussions - the course is very interactive, polls, case studies, Q&A. Attendance is tracked manually by an admin assistant and automatically by a Google Meet extension.
Don't miss this opportunity to expand your knowledge and connect with like-minded individuals.
The session links will be emailed 1 day before the start of the training.

According to NICE guidelines, an ADHD diagnosis must only be made by qualified healthcare professionals. If you are an independent practitioner, you must meet the CQC (Care Quality Commission) definition of a "healthcare professional." This means:
Registration: You must be registered with a statutory regulatory body (such as the GMC, HCPC, or NMC).
Expertise: You must have the specific training and legal obligations required to safely and effectively assess mental health conditions.
Typically, this includes Psychiatrists, Clinical Psychologists, and Specialist Nurses who have undergone rigorous training in psychopathology.
Yes. Many services use a multidisciplinary team approach. Various professionals may contribute to the information-gathering process under the supervision of a Practitioner Psychologist or Psychiatrist, who will then formalize the final diagnosis.
Note: This training is designed to enhance your skills and support your professional development toward these senior diagnostic roles.
For educational purposes, Specialist Teachers holding an APC (Assessment Practising Certificate) can assess students over the age of 16, provided they have received additional specialized training in ADHD.
No. We do not provide specific advice on medical treatments or medication.
However, we understand that this is a vital part of the journey. Routes to medication are thoroughly discussed as part of our post-assessment support and recommendation process to ensure you know how to access the help you need.
